Although we have just two classes a week, that focus solely on stretching you can take these exercises and patterns away with you and do them at home!
Here are just 5 fab reasons why our conditioning classes have multiple health benefits.
Helps improve posture.
So if your posture improves this means body pains will ease such as the back. Tight and stressed muscles can cause poor posture particularly the muscles the muscles of the shoulders, chest, hips, glutes, upper and lower back. Let us help ease the discomfort and aches but helping you understand correct and safe ways to stretch.
Relives stress
Things have never been more stressful than these past 21 months and without realising, we are carrying this around in our bodies. All this stress causes our muscle to become tense and aggravated due to certain triggers (this can also cause you to be a little extra emotional). Deep stretches, listening to your body and focusing on the stiffer areas, along with deep breathing, helps that tension escape and leaves you feeling more “ahhh”.
Helps create a wider range of motion
Unfortunately we are always ageing (I know, I am so sorry to bring it up) and because of this evilness we have to put ourselves through our bodies begin to become naturally stiff in areas we could once, never feel e.g. hips, knees, ankles – it is mainly the joints. Thankfully by stretching, breathing and understanding where you need relief, we can gradually improve range of motion in our bodies. So you may be tilting at 87!!!
Naturally calming for body and mind
Stretching, on a daily basis (light or deep) calms your mind and decrease the intensisty and consistency of headaches (trust me, I know). Stretching is a form of meditation, as like meditation, you focus on your breathing and tuning into what your body wants and needs. You become more mindful and aware of where your body needs the most focus and concentrate on nothing but being at one with your body. It is simply a physical form of therapy (and a lot cheaper!).
You become more flexible
As well as increasing your range of motion, if taking part on classes things such as turnout, kicks, floor work and even just a plie, all becomes a lot easier. You will notice your leg going close to the head and your retire position in pirouettes (Ballet) are a lot more open and easier to hold. Although never focus on the splits, yes, it’s great to be able to do them but let that be a long term focus and your physical health, ability and mental wellbeing be the main focus.
